I am first and foremost a silent film fan and collector. My reason for starting this website is because I know how difficult it is to get silent films on DVD in the UK. I have spent a great deal of money expanding my archive over the years but I’m not intending to make vast profits from the sale of these films but I hope to recoup some of my expenditure and provide some “hard to find films” for classic movie fans in the UK and across the world.
Some of the films you can find elsewhere quite readily but I’ve included them so that the site can be a resource for all silent movie fans rather than just the specialist. I am also increasingly aware that quite a lot of material is available on Youtube. However a lot of the films do not have musical accompaniment and if you are like me this is an important aspect of the film. I would also hope that the quality of my films is invariably better than you find watching a film on Youtube.
Although over the years I have concentrated on getting all the silent titles onto the website I also have lots of early sound films and classic films from the 30s 40s and 50s, many of which are not yet on the site. So if you are looking for a particular title just email me as I may already have it or may be able to get hold of it.
Quality: Obviously given that some of these films are100+ years old they are not going to be pristine prints. The condition of films varies considerably from excellent at the top end to mediocre at the bottom. I have tried to indicate where the quality is lower than would be expected but I have still included them as I think the films are still worthwhile if it is the best available copy and there is no alternative
Copyright: A lot of the films on this site are in the public domain but other films are included as “collector” copies where no official DVD release is available. I am not knowingly infringing anyone’s copyright but if I have made a mistake then please let me know and I will withdraw the film from sale.
Musical accompaniment: All silent films have a musical accompaniment.
File transfer: I have had a couple of enquiries about this in the last 6 months and have decided to start offering it as a delivery method. So, if your IT skills are good and you either want to watch the film from the video file on a device or burn your own dvd then this may be of interest to you. Once I have received payment I will upload your films to a site and you will receive an email to tell you that you can download your files. Just let me know if you require the film as an iso file to burn straight to a dvd or an mp4 file of the film

The site is mainly intended as a resource for British silent fans but I’m happy to ship anywhere in the world. The disks are region free but If you need the film to be NTSC please make this clear when placing an order.
Prices: Due to the ever increasing cost of postage I no longer offer the films with cases, artwork etc but in the very popular “no frills” format, in paper sleeves and no artwork.
